NEW ZINE CELEBRATES THE ICONIC, SYMBOLIC AND ABSURD … BANANA!
Bananas have had a surprisingly rich and symbolic life in art and popular culture - ranging from humor and absurdity to deeper commentary on consumerism, sexuality and identity.
The BananaZine by renowned food photographer Ellis Parrinder, celebrates the rich history and bold visual simplicity of the banana - instantly recognizable, slightly absurd in shape and color and made famous by pop art legend and Parrinder’s hero, Andy Warhol.
In his latest cultural collaboration, Parrinder partners with British contemporary artist Magda Archer, known for her unique, uplifting and collectable work. Magda has created an exclusive original artwork from the BananaZine, which folds out into collectable A3 poster.
The BananaZine captures a surreal take on this much loved, everyday item and elevates it into art. It follows the successful launch last year of The Breakfast Zine, where Parrinder partnered with artist Rory McQueen.
