He has established himself as one of the UK’s leading food photographers, known for his art direction, colour and distinct, individual style.  Ellis’ work ranges from shooting some of the nation’s best-selling cookbooks and food magazines to brand packaging and visuals.

Ellis has been commissioned by Harper Collins, Penguin Random House, Bloomsbury and DK.  He is also a regular contributor to Waitrose Magazine and the Observer Food monthly, along with commercial work for Cadbury, Chivas, Popworks, SauceShop, Pinch of Nom, Living Things, Old el Paso, Fortnum & Mason & Get Baked. 

Ellis cut his teeth photographing bands and music artists, making a name for himself thanks to working with big names the likes of Desmond Tutu, Coldplay, Morrissey, Meryl Streep and Jeff Goldblum.  Now the portraits he takes are generally food themed, like Poppy O’Toole, the ‘Potato Queen’, balancing a potato on her head for her latest cookbook!

Ellis has been creating and capturing memorable and diverse images for more than two decades.
